BEELIEVE. BEECOME. BE!

Updated: Jul 19, 2023

Sometimes, I wished decisions were easier to make. And I wished I could know exactly what to do, and how to react in different situations. I guess everybody would like to know that, life would probably be easier.

However, life wasn’t supposed to be easy, and actually God has given us a “How to live” manual, the Bible, that we usually fail miserably following, otherwise we wouldn’t be wondering so much.

The first most important decision of our lives is not the easiest one to make, but it is life changing. Is the decision to surrender our lives completely to Jesus, and let Him take the lead. First, by accepting His redeemer love and grace, as John 3:16 beautifully says: “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” And then, giving Him the only thing we could give: our lives.

The apostle Paul explains that in many inspired writings, such as Galatians 2:20: “I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.”

After that, we may start making better decisions, with the help and guidance of God, and now, for the rest of our lives, we will grow in His Word, knowledge, and love.

Philippians 2:12b to 16a says: “..continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling, for it is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfill his good purpose. Do everything without grumbling or arguing, so that you may become blameless and pure, children of God without fault in a warped and crooked generation. Then you will shine among them like stars in the sky as you hold firmly to the word of life…”

These verses are definitely more precious than I have enough theology to talk about them, yet I believe they're saying how we can become more like Jesus. First, by “fearing God”, “who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfill his good purpose”. Then, they tell us about some of those wonderings mentioned at the beginning: we should do things, and react in a way that glorifies God. “without grumbling or arguing, so that you may become blameless and pure, children of God without fault”, quite differently from “a warped and crooked generation”, shining the light of Jesus, holding “firmly to the word of life” until the end.

Quite easy, huh? Of course not! Actually impossible without the One who works all those good things in our lives day after day. And that is called sanctification, God transforming us to be the way He created us to be!

Philippians 3:13 to 16 says: “Brothers and sisters, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead,

I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus. All of us, then, who are mature should take such a view of things. And if on some point you think differently, that too God will make clear to you. Only let us live up to what we have already attained.”

It is never finished until God calls us to be with Him forever. In the meantime, we must “press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus”, and walk through that journey with faith, fear, humbleness, love and surrender.

These are the fundamentals of Bee Blog, and I believe chistian life: Believe in Jesus. Become each day more like Him. Be who you were created to be!
